Engraved Bourbon Barrel Shelf

This shelf is made from a refurbished bourbon barrel head. We clean them up and sand them just enough to get the grime and rough edges off, while maintaining their rustic charm. We then seal them with multiple coats of semi-gloss lacquer. The shelf part itself is made from a piece of a second bourbon barrel top, cut down to size. We then place a metal ring, also from a bourbon barrel, around the front. The bands may be bent or dented, we try to straighten them out as much as possible, without losing their rounded curve. Some tops may have a bung in the center, while others might not, depends on stock available at time of purchase. If you prefer one either with or without a bung, leave a note at checkout.
These beautiful shelves are easy to hang and pre-mounted with a French cleat. All you have to do is hang the other half of the French cleat on the wall and slip your new shelf into place. The wide 6-inch French cleat will keep your shelf level and secure. I also include drywall anchors, so you are ready to hang your shelf as soon as it arrives.
The top itself measures approximately 21-22 inches in diameter. The shelf piece measures approximately 7 inches wide, and it is up around 6 inches from the bottom of the top.

All of our items are made from authentic bourbon barrels and have been used to distill bourbon. All barrels are different! Some of them might be a little bigger or smaller than others. They may not look the same as the ones in the photos. They all have some imperfections, which include, but are not limited to, cracks, checks, discoloration, missing pieces, gaps in the wood, and some may not lay perfectly flat. This happens after a barrel has been dried after years of being soaked in bourbon. We try to get out as many imperfections as we can, without losing its natural rustic look. But this is what makes each item truly unique and one a kind.
